About the show
The Apple of Truth is a bi-weekly podcast that covers every episode of Dirk Gently, where we try to figure out the web of sexy coinci-dink and learn how everything and nothing is connected.
Beware! There will be swearing, poking fun at religion, general overabundance of fangirling and probably pointless discussions, but since we have shitloads of fun with this, we hope you can laugh with us.
We made a Patreon over at https://www.patreon.com/taotpodcast to help with the monthly costs of hosting and making a podcast. We hope that you might consider joining us in this small but amazing community.

Episode 76: TAOT Lucifer S5E05
September 22nd, 2021 | 1 hr 16 mins
We were thinking, since we now release biweekly, that we might make our episodes a little longer.. And boy did we deliver this time. Get ready for a lot of love for all of our characters, actors and writers.
Chloe is struggling with being a gift, Maze is struggling with abandonment issues and we struggle with keeping it together. So please. Enjoy. Hope you find it as mindblowing as we did. -
TAOT Special: Lucifer Season 6
September 17th, 2021 | 1 hr 15 mins
For the third and final time, we get ahead of ourselves and talk about the new and last season of Lucifer: Season 6.
Once again you will hear us talk about all our likes and the few dislikes we had, though this time we go through it episode by episode. Then we have some questions - because of course we do. And as usual, we both wrap up our very own final thoughts on this. We talked so much, there even is a bonus episode for all of our Patrons, should you simply not get enough of this final season of Lucifer ;) -
Episode 75: TAOT Lucifer S5E04
September 8th, 2021 | 1 hr 8 mins
This episode did not only have the fandom in two minds about it, but also the two of us were on very different sides once again.
Vero loves a special and really enjoyed this episode while Lina took issue with a lot of things.
Join us for praises of Trixie and Tricia Helfer, appreciation of songs, musings about Lucifer-verse lore, theories about Lucifer as a narrator, comparison of parallel upon parallel, judgement of careless immortals. -
Episode 74: TAOT Lucifer S5E03
August 25th, 2021 | 1 hr 15 mins
MORE META STUFF! This week Lucifer finally comes back to Earth to deal with Michael, so not only we get to see the two of them interacting, Lina finally gets her wish of Chloe being fully informed, we debate Ella more, than the actual episode itself and Vero gets to mention her coffee machine again. And let's not forget the case of the week, as we often did throughout the episode!

Episode 73: TAOT Lucifer S5E02
August 11th, 2021 | 1 hr 6 mins
They are doing horrible wonderful things to us!
We complain, we theorize, we worship, we argue - so pretty much business as usual, but it feels more like usual.
Join us for curious side notes, Chloe/Lauren appreciation, complaints about repetitive writing/narratives, worrying about various relationships, praising of Tom Ellis' acting, puns and alliterations, theories about Michael's sexuality, and so much more. -
Episode 72: TAOT Lucifer S5E01
July 28th, 2021 | 1 hr 14 mins
HEYO! IT'S SEASON 5! S E A S O N F I V E!!
We're not gonna lie, this is an excelent episode, but it has its issues. They are all worth it for the final twist, and the episode concept. So get comfy and enjoy Lina's conspiracy brain and Vero's complaints about Hell loops. -
Episode 71: TAOT Lucifer Summoning E4
July 21st, 2021 | 59 mins 1 sec
Short season - short-ish summoning! It's probably totally unrelated to the fact that we stayed relatively sober this time...
We cover our usual bases:
- There is talk focussing on season 4 content-wise: Best/Worst character development, best pairing, favourite episodesand so on.
- We talk a bit about the music! We compare season 4 to previous seasons and ponder if the cancellation and subsequent being saved by Netflix made it an even better show than it could ever have been at FOX.
- Due to the wonkiness of the timeline and timings in season 4, we also go into quite some detail there. And we obviously close out with the stuff we monitor just like we did for the previous ones. But this time, Lina gets her mind blown! Since season 5 is pretty fresh in our brains, you do not get a spoiler part this time around!

Episode 70: TAOT Lucifer S4E10
July 14th, 2021 | 1 hr 7 mins
THE SEASON FINALE IS HERE!!
Time to figure out why Chloe behaves the way she does, how sexy Lucifer's devil voice is and Lina even tells us her time sharing solution to the whole 'Luci leaving Chloe behind' thing. -
Episode 69: TAOT Lucifer S4E09
July 7th, 2021 | 1 hr 7 mins
The spiraling continues into a full body devil transformation, but sadly not the sexy kind even though this is episode 69 for us!
Join us this week for extensive wardrobe commentary (the scarf, Lucifer's outfit, the mask!), exasperated discussions about Ella and her not being appreciated enough, different takes on the whole Eve/Maze dynamic, the now nearly standard praising of Chloe, some (more or less) obvious parallels and so much more! -
Episode 68: TAOT Lucifer S4E08
June 30th, 2021 | 1 hr 2 mins
CW/TW! In this episode we touch upon police brutality and racism. If you wish to avoid that bit, it starts at 27:59 and you want to skip ahead 5mins to 32:54.
This week Ames struggles with humans, while Lucifer struggles with break ups, Vero struggles with emotions and Lina struggles to get Vero to cry. In an episode with some real topics, we hope we managed to find some lightness and humour as well. -
Episode 67: TAOT Lucifer S4E07
June 23rd, 2021 | 1 hr 7 mins
Lucifer continues his descent into the darkness and we are joining him. Come along as we debate our different expectations for various scenes, argue about Dan, agree about Ella, make random references and praise the writing and directing in this episode.
-
Episode 66: TAOT Lucifer S4E06
June 16th, 2021 | 1 hr 10 mins
This week we agreed, that episode 6 felt like a mid season finale. We also agreed we didn't like the name... And that is about where our agreement stopped.
Daniel is douchier than ever, Ella doesn't get enough development, but most importantly Vero comes up with a headcanon, which involves Lucifer's mental state. And speaking of Lucifer, he goes proper Dark side in this one. -
Episode 65: TAOT Lucifer S4E05
June 9th, 2021 | 1 hr 3 mins
We make and enjoy puns this week, we debate belly buttons, praise Aimee Garcia's and Lauren German's acting, rage against denial while happily embracing it ourselves, enjoy the numerous references to the AU episode, ponder potential plot twists, argue about rebounds and worry a lot about Ella.
So, pretty much a very normal episde for us ;) -
Episode 64: TAOT Lucifer S4E04
June 2nd, 2021 | 1 hr 7 mins
A new character, that showed up in the last seconds of the previous episode is introduced. And it indeed is All About Eve. Lina is fairly unsatisfied with the introduction, while Vero finds her intriguing.
We follow the utterly irrelevant case of the week and compare Lucifer characters to Scooby-Doo. Luci is trying to get rid of Eve, while Eve wants nothing more, but to spend time with him. Chloe goes through emotions, Ella wears the best tshirts and the baby side plot is as important as the case of the week.

TAOT Special: Lucifer Season 5 Part B
May 29th, 2021 | 54 mins 28 secs
Once again we step out of our usual chronological coverage and talk about the freshly dropped half-season of Lucifer: Season 5 Part B
In this one you hear us talk about: Things we liked (loads), things we didn't like (or rather things Lina didn't like), things that we are curious about (some) and of course once again we try to make some pretty wild predictions for season 6. -
Episode 63: TAOT Lucifer S4E03
May 26th, 2021 | 1 hr 7 mins
This time we learn that Vero really does not like any kind of gory stuff, that the two of us once again have very different readings for the same scenes and Lina grows even more into a Deckerstar shipper.
There is so much more of course, including callbacks to old episodes, actual rewatching of old scenes, talk about "Darker Dan" and potential implications and more Lauren German appreciation.
